SEAMC 2018

This year, the annual South East Asian Mathematics Competition (SEAMC) was hosted in Singapore. This year, our school decided to take a selected 6 individuals (1 senior team and 1 junior team) to the competition.

The competition assesses a wide range of mathematical skills. These can be observed through the various attributes as seen below:Screen Shot 2018-06-05 at 12.17.36 PM.png

For me, SEAMC was an amazing experience unlike any other! I was able to put my Math skills to the test through a series of quizzes and puzzles. Not only did I learn pi to 42 digits, but I also developed my problem solving skills, built lasting friendships, and most importantly, had a lot of fun!

In addition to this, I was the first ever student from the International School of Penang (Uplands) to ever win a medal in the competition.

” Congratulations to all the students for their enthusiasm and excellent work ethics. A special mention to Ashwin for winning a medal for collaboration. ”
